Turn Discouragement into Triumph in the Tea Business

Have you ever been discouraged? I mean tail dragging, feel like you have been beaten by a stick discouraged?
Did you dream of a successful tea business only to be left picking up the pieces of a shattered reality?
Have you ever felt like everything that once mattered to you is meaningless, hopeless and without a future?
Have you lived in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water, no purpose and no vision?
Have you been broken?
I have.
Discouragement, doubt and defeat go hand in hand with the entrepreneurial spirit. I can't count how many times I have thought of walking away and getting a "real job."
Sometimes, discouragement doesn't come from our business but from our outside world. Our family, our friends, our own household is stretching and straining and it just seems easier to give up than to go on.
Are you there?
If you are, I have a word for you. It is a simple word that changed my life in 1991 and has seen me through some very dark times. The word is "process."
We are all in process. We are not finished yet. The place where you are today is not the end of the journey.
It may feel like the end, you may long for the end, but the place where you are right now is part of the process. You are in process.
I am in process.
When I finally grasped the concept of embracing the "process" I understood that all of the burdens, all of the high expectations, all of the perfectionism that I lived under could be the tool that God might use to reveal the diamond in my life.
Being in process means I am no longer responsible to be perfect right now. I may not have the ultimate home, business, lifestyle or family. I may not look the way I want to look or act the way I want to act.
I may feel stuck in a job I hate...but this is not the end. This is part of the process and I if I keep moving forward the end result will be success.
Choice and process go hand in hand.
Along the road, as you journey on in process you have choice. Lots of choice. You can choose to live in situation that you are currently in or you can choose to change the situation by an act of your will. Process simply means giving time for the end result to work its way in you.
Personally, I am a pray-er. I pray. I seek God for wisdom, direction and strength. He is the source that I go to when things get bad and when I feel overwhelmed with discouragement.
And He reminds me of the process. Life goes on and each day I walk closer to the destiny to which I was called.
So what does this have to do with my Starting A Tea Business (TM)online tea school?
Plenty.
Lately, I have gotten emails from potential students and from former alumni. These letters focus on discouragement.
Things haven't gone as they had hoped. The business got set aside due to family crisis or you find yourself in the middle of a divorce without a vision.
These emails are heartbreaking. The discouragement is real.
And so I have written this response....
If you have a tea business dream hold on. You may not see it but your life is in process. Hold on to your dream.
Take steps toward achieving your dream. Give it space and give it time and your tea business WILL become a reality.
You are only in process so.. hold on and enjoy the journey. You will be amazed at where the current circumstances take you.
